I'm new to the forum (hi all) and just wondering...
How many are you are applying with AP credits from high school. I feel odd for not having any and kind of wanted to get an idea of who had some.

I'm not freaking out or anything...well other than the fact that I could have done better in Intro Bio etc. Well that's a better story for another day 😉

I used quite a bit of AP, but took upper level stuff to make up for it since a lot of schools don't accept AP credits. They want to see us taking the classes in a college environment.

I had 46 AP/IB credits starting college. I got credit for intro physics (lecture only), intro biology, and calculus. I took the physics labs at my school, as well as upper division biology courses and a stats course.

I made sure to get 90 credit hours at the college level though, so I had 136 credits towards my bachelor's degree, with a major in biology and a minor in history. I got another 16 credits post-bacc (not for any particular reason, just happened that one of the programs I went through was 13 hours, and I took an additional class for the fun of it).

I had 20 AP credits going into college (general bio I and II, intro psych, western civilization I and II, and english 111)

I ended up taking bio and english 111 even though I APed out because some med schools don't accept AP credit, so keep that in mind.

I had about 45 units from AP credits when I started college, but I didn't really get to skip any classes.

Haha I had 3, for calculus. You all always make me feel like such a slacker.

I came in without about 20 credits of AP work including humanities and Biology 1 and 2 completed....so then I took upper level Biology classes, I hope that's fine?

Also, I am minoring in medical humanities now so I can take humanities class and still get a well-rounded education and I love those classes!

In the end, AP is a flawed system since med schools look down upon it when they shouldn't; students are challenging themselves from the start of college and why is that bad? Because my AP courses at my high school were very difficult and way tougher than my college classes.

In the end, medical schools should realized AP credit is hard work earned by the student who worked his butt of trying to impress college admissions!!!!!
