I would prefer just practicing and research mostly.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. Everything in life is a negotiation. It all depends on what you bring to the table.

At my institute some of the physician scientist may have to give a lecture or two but nothing intense (mostly on their research/expertise)

The simple answer is: No. The practical answer is: You do whatever your institution/division/chair tells you to do. I've been able to get out of most teaching, but I'm still obligated by the division to drop some knowledge bombs on trainees from time to time.
