Do you subscribe to any journals?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
We had a great medical library full of electronic journals. We didn't need to spend money for something that was included in our tuition price. Even now, as an attending, I don't subscribe to journals but read them online. This is why medical libraries are great.

Some professional societies/journals often have a kind of "journal watch" publication or program where they will send you snippets of pertinent articles. If you are a student member of American College of Physicians, (free!), you can subscribe to their Journal Club Plus service that will email you one sentence summaries of articles that you mark as interesting to you. It keeps me up-to-date on findings and takes minimal time to keep up with.

I receive JAMA as part of my AMA-MSS membership and American Family Physician as part of my AAFP student membership.

New England Journal of Medicine. I bought myself a subscription early my first year (as a nice welcome to the medical profession) and am amazed at how much more I understand now when reading it. Now as I enter my second year, I'm sure my understanding will rise exponentially. I think it's a great journal and am particularly fond of the MGH Case Records and Clinical Problem-Solving sections. It's great to glimpse into how expert physicians come up with their differential diagnoses.

Same here. I like filling up my bookshelf and feeling "important". 😛

Yeh, I also get JAMA. Was excited to read it at first, but it really isn't helpfull to me at this point and I just don't have the time.
