Do you think these practice DAt scores and other extracurricular activities are good?

I am going to be taking my DAt in march of 2006, i am currently a junior a SUNY onoenta, but the real question is are my DAT scores good enough? basically i would like to hear some input of other individuals scores on practice and the actual DAT. my practice scores are AA-18 PAT-18, but the hard part is that i haven't taken organic chemistry yet. I am currently almost through a prep book for orgo, and i won't be taking the class until after i have completed the DAT, will this (possible) low score on the real DAT for orgo effect my chances? even though the admissions com will see that i have not yet taken the course in college? the other points i would like to point out are that i currently work in a pediatric orthodontists office, and i have observed two oral surgeons with combined hours near 200. Also i am in about 5 clubs at school and worked as a radiographic assistant for 2 years in a urgent care facility. With my strong background of medicine and recommendations, will this overcome a possible low score in one of the science area on the DAT and grant me admittance?

chris...

hopefully a NYU, buffalo, or NOVA student in the fall

by practice scores from Kaplan if your getting 18's that pretty good actually. Being a long timer on sdn its said that your score should be 2-3 points higher on the real thing. Kaplans tests especially the sciences are a bit harder than the real thing. Whats your gpa like.

From what i see you will be fine. Your well above average and u will do much better on the DAT.

thanks, thats very reassuring, i am just concerned about the fact that i haven't taken organic chemistry yet, and if end up choking on that section of the real DAT and get a 13 or something, will the admissions committee still take pity on me because they will realize i haven't even taken the course yet, and i have been trying to learn it on my own?

I belive you must take Organic Chemistry 1,2 before taking DAT. Butu don't take my word, give them a call and make sure. And I am pretty sure all dental schools require you to take organic chemistry before applying.

i know that you don't have to have pre req's done before applying to dental school, but if accepted you must complete the pre req's that they require
