Hey all,

I know there are already a couple other DIT threads on SDN, but I wanted to get one going regarding people's schedules and the DIT program in general. I'm starting boards prep in 2 weeks from today and I'll be using DIT as my guide.

I was wondering if anyone who is taking the USMLE this year or has taken it in the past has a sample schedule that they can either post or discuss in this thread. I think it would be helpful to hear what some other folks are doing.

Since I haven't received the lecture schedule yet, it's a little difficult to fully plan out my schedule. With that said, I keep hearing from upper years at my school to make a schedule and STICK TO IT!

Thanks for any insight. Good luck all with your studies!

I paced myself to get through UWorld by the end of my study time. I did roughly 1 block of questions a day, 2 some days. I reviewed and annotated the questions I missed into first aid.

I used the first week of my study time to go over biochem and attend some board review lectures my school offered. I took a baseline practice test during this time.

Second week was a solid read through of Rapid Review Pathology.

I started DIT after that and did the program in 3 weeks, using the weekends to take a practice test 1 day and review answers/catch-up/rest the next.

The last week was a solid read-through of First Aid with all my annotations.

That's a rough outline of my schedule. Adjust as needed.

How long do you have for board prep?

Signed up for 6/24 🙂

Thanks Depakote. Really helpful

I did kaplan for 3ish weeks before DIT. Then I did DIT in 15 days with a one day off break about 2/3 of the way through. Each day I did DIT I did 3 blocks of UWorld annotating answers into FA for the other time during the day. 10-11 days left between last day of DIT and exam date.

How long are the video lectures in DIT. I am thinking of getting it to supplement my studying. I take the test June 8.

If you watch it at 1x speed the lectures are 4.5-5 hours per day of straight up lecture time. He also tells you to stop the videos fairly often to take quizzes, and recommends that you take 10 minute breaks between lectures, so if you add all that up it takes about 6 hours/day of DIT. I have no idea how illixer got through it so fast or how he fit in so many UWorld blocks. I think the lectures are very information dense and it's everything I can do to keep up at 1x, review the material afterwards, and fit in one 48 question block of UWorld questions (with a thorough review after I'm done).

I think it's a good program, but if you're like me it's definitely going to BE your study plan for 3 weeks, rather than being a suplement like the Kaplan videos or Goljan audio.

Looks like I may spread myself then then if I add it up. I will stick to self studying/uworld for now then.

👍 I completely agree with the above post. I just started viewing the videos and it’s taking much longer than I anticipated. My day goes as follows: viewing three videos per day and pausing each one through out to either write down information he adds to FA and take quizzes. Afterwards I review the material again on my own with the addition of a few other resources as needed (e.g. BRS Phys, Goljan audio w/RR path, flash cards). I take a focused exam from USMLERx and do a random block of 48 Qs from UWorld. I have been doing this for a few days now and it’s taking me 12-14hrs each day.

The videos are great, just beware that it requires a time commitment to fully benefit from the program.
