Yesterday I read an interesting article that might make an interesting topic for discussion at interviews:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/latimests/t...SoDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

From the article:

"In 2004, doctors rang more than 2 million doorbells — up nearly 9% from the previous year. The movement has been propelled by advances in medical technology, an increase in Medicare reimbursements and a growing recognition that house calls make economic sense for certain patients."

That was a really interesting article - I like that the doctors get to spend more time with patients, and get to know them better. I wonder if they offer it in all parts of the country, or only in CA?
Thanks for sharing with us!

hey!

that was a good article. thanks for posting it...it's just timely too that i was just wondering if US physicians were still making house calls.

My mom just made a house call today with a 96 year-old patient, who is too weak to wait in another doctor's office for check-ups and procedures.

I hope this trend grows as the population ages.

Bump. Just want to give the Saturday evening crowd a chance to read it. 😛
