Does AMCAS attach AAMC ID to letters when they send to schools?

posting here cuz the rec thread is dead and no one answers questions

Sassy! I believe your letter writers should include your AAMC ID on your letter. If they don't, it is still uploaded to the AAMC site under your ID and I assume that whole packet gets sent to schools as a unit. AAMC probably wouldn't actually edit the letter to put the ID on it, if that's what you're asking.

I had interfolio attach AAMC ID to the letters and have that sent to AMCAS. They are all uploaded on AMCAS. My question is when AMCAS sends the letters to schools would it still have the ID attached to them. I want to know because schools state that they want ID attached to the letter.

I'm almost positive your AAMC ID will be associated with those letters and you won't have a problem. Do you know that your letter writers didn't write your ID on the letter? Most that have done it before will put your AAMC ID on there, then you're more than fine.

I didn't tell any of my letter writers to include my ID in their letters. It wasn't an issue at any of the 24 schools I applied to. So I'm assuming they're somehow linked to your application when schools download them.
