that they are no longer nervous about interviews anymore? I feel like at every interview I have been to, I am repeating myself over and over again. I have two more interviews coming up, one this week and one next week, and I am not even nervous enough to neurorically go over interview feedback questions. I haven't been accepted anywhere yet. So I shouldn't be this apathetic. Ahhh, this process is killing me. Please share in my frustration.

I read all seventy something interview feedbacks for UT Houston which was my first interview. I know....I'm crazy! LOL!

I'm not nervous anymore either, but I guess it's a good thing...I just ramble on all hyper-like when I'm nervous which I did a few times. I only have one left for UTSW and so it will be good that I'm relaxed.

Oh my goodness...YES! I thought maybe it was just me, but yes, the interviews don't seem to be as stressful as they were at the beginning. I did all the crazy stuff at the beginning too and was wondering if I was the only one--thank goodness you're out there, Dr. Chiquita!

well maybe i'd feel that way if i ever got past the beginning....ugh :scared:

thanks for your e-mail, and comments, 😍 i'll get back to you shortly.

Well, its true what they say--it really does get easier! Its not easier because the questions are any less difficult or the interviews are any less intense but its a matter of exponential increases in our confidence in ourselves. I'm actually inclined to think that the interview process was created so that by the time we actually are accepted/matriculate somewhere, we will be ready to be med students.

I LOVE applying to med school!! It gets us that much closer...

Now that's just going too far. Even the most masochistic among us shouldn't find pleasure in this horrible nightmare.

for my first interview i read a ton of interview feedbacks, tried on my suit the night before to make sure it fit, had my clothes/hairstuff laid out the night before, reread my apps a million times, reread the directions a million times to make sure i understood them, etc.

for the last one i didn't even look at what room i was supposed to be going to until the morning. and 2 interviews ago i only read like one interview feedback. i'm also more concerned now about asking my questions and seeing the bars/restaurants to see if i like the school rather than being concerned about impressing them.

I guess I am not complaining about interviews getting easier. But I just feel guilty for feeling this lazy when I am not accepted anywhere.

😀 I did the same sort of thing. At the last school, I had to ask the front desk staff at the hotel how to get to the medical school just before I left the hotel. I had no idea where it was (I booked this hotel because it was on the school's hotel list). For my first one, I had my maps all ready 3 days in advance and showed up half an hour early.

I don't think it has anything to do with being lazy. In fact, I think it's just "normal" 😱 !!! (this comment cannot leave SDN!)

i think it's already been e-mailed to every school you applied to. 😛

and i guess i'd probably be the same way but i wonder how many interviews does it take for one to feel complacent?

Just curious -- how many interviews will all of you be going on?
I am headed to my fourth interview and I feel a lot better about it than I did for my first two. First two made me really nervous, third was less worrisome, and this one, well, I'm not really worried. (On the other hand, I'm very fortunate to have acceptances already, so I admit that is contributing to my reduction in nervousness.) But yeah, it gets a lot easier after the first two or three.

I've heard elsewhere 5-7 interviews... probably fewer if one's stats are good. Good luck!

Yeah, I can definitely sympathize with this feeling. I have been on 11 so far, and they allare just blending together. As much as they tellyou every interview is different, they really aren't. They might not ask you the exact same questions, but you end up giving the same information over and over again.

The one thing I have found id that I like the interview days that are just a tour and interview. Its so hard to sit through financial aid info, housing info, etc etc, especially when you have more than one in a week.

Get used to the feeling. You will get comfortable the more you do things. The first patient you see you'll crap your pants with nerves, and by the end of the first year you'll be so comfortable it wont phase you.

GOod luck.

For me after the third interview I was settling into a groove and by number 6 I just wanted to get the info across. I will say this, it took me about 4 interviews before I figured out exactly what I wanted to know about each school, and how exactly to formulate my questions.

Not to sound like an ass, but I am extremely happy to be done interviewing. I wish you all the best of luck in the process.

Complacent? Maybe too strong a word...more like confident, secure in what you have to offer and how you'll explain it. You'll see... :luck:
