Hello,

I am trying to figure out the timing for my MCAT coming up in September. I have been trying to find the structure online and I have not been able to. I know that the questions will take approximately 1.5 - 1.6 minutes to answer, but I do not know how many passages and discrete there are for each section. Is there information that has been revealed? Like, how many passages and discretes have been taken out for this new version?

In the Covid page for AAMC under the last FAQ under the shortened MCAT, they list the number of questions and passages in each section.
Do you know the order of the discretes? Like, are they always at the end, or 3 between each passage, etc? I looked at the FAQ section and that is not mentioned. This seems like something that varies by exam.

I actually have no clue. I don't think it's set in stone. The practice exams I've done I think have all varied (but I didn't really pay attention). Your section never starts off w/ discrete questions but I think it's always ended in them (except CARS). It's more randomly dispersed so you'll have a couple discrete questions sprinkled in between passages (you might have like 3 passages in a row then 4 discrete but it's not always the case).

Yeah, that's what I think.
