Does anyone else just hate uneducated people who act as if they're knowledgeable

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Calling him a troll, I'd have to agree with the OP; grow up!

It's f***ing SDN, he's not planning to heist the world trust. 130 posts dating back months and months and calling him a troll. Who would ever spend that much time to troll a message board? He's well spoken in his posts and has a valid point with this topic.

If his stats were a 3.7/32 would you guys still be calling him a troll? He may be arrogant, or maybe he just has a low tolerance for ignorance from people who really shouldnt be. Humility may be in order for the latter but he told her politely and didn't start an argument with her on the spot.

The majority of pre-meds are uninformed. Telling people to shoot for a 28 is bogus, telling them that a 3.2 will cut it for you is bogus; this person shouldn't be president of the club.

The fact that everyone knows your MCAT score at your school is a little lame, but I can easily understand how this news spreads once you tell a friend, as (a lot of the time) pre-meds have nothing better to talk about than other pre-meds and medical school.

I'd much rather have an arrogant doctor who knows what he's talking about than one who doesn't know what he/she is talking about, regardless of how nice and understanding they are.

Oh, and keep trolling, OP. 🙄

I decided to check out our new "pre-med" club last night. I had gotten an email from one of my professors that the pre-med club president wanted me to come in and talk about prepping for medical school. I can't believe people actually put this crap down on applications as it's apparent anyone can be anything in these clubs.

The club president wanted to talk to me about the MCAT, schools I'm applying to, etc etc since I'm just about the only one there who has taken the MCAT with any sort of success.

First, a student asks me about acceptable GPAs and whatnot, and this girl (the president) has the gall to tell me I overdid it in college because she only has a 3.0x, and you only need a ~3.2 to be competitive. "Why overwork yourself to the point of stress" was her logic. Have fun in med school, kid.

Later on, after answering a question about how to study for the MCAT to another student, she interjects at the end saying that "I'm an exception to the study rule" and that a 28 is what we should all be shooting for to remain competitive. I politely disagreed with her, and then spoke to a few students after the club telling them how wrong that was.

As we're wrapping up the night, I'm casually talking about some schools I'm interested in, and this girl has the audacity to start laughing at me because Mayo is a sub-par school where I'dbe getting a sub-standard education in comparison to other schools. I was floored!

Needless to say, I walked away laughing as she's the one living in fantasy land with a 3.0x gpa and shooting for a <30 MCAT score. All this while hoping to attend Case Western  Sometimes people who have no idea what they're talking about, yet insist on talking, drive me absolutely insane. The saddest part is that she's going to put down "Pre-med Club President" on her app, and some nuts out there will be impressed by it.

haha, i had this exact same girl; she's 1-2 years below me and now she's getting an MPH cause her MCAT was so low, didnt even get one interview 🙄. I remember her being so ballsy as to tell several college administrators that she could get accepted to med school without any URM special treatments (she's URM BTW and she was in a med school outreach program for URMs at the the time).

omgyou8myrice, I am disappoint. Your posts are always original and good, but the pre-med committee discrepancy totally destroys your credibility. Oh well 😡
