Just out of curiosity, do schools reject students right after they interview or do they just put us on their waitlist? Because I don't know anyone who ever got rejected right after. I always seem to interview and then they put me on their damn waitlist!!!

Yep, people get outright rejected. Maryland gave me the boot 6 weeks after my interview😡 - who needs them anyway😛

my first interview (feels like a long time ago now, thank goodness) resulted in a rejection. the others have all been waitlists or i'm still waiting to hear back from them. i'm glad you didn't have to experience that post-interview rejection feeling...it sucks!!😡

A girl I interviewed with got rejected from Georgetown 2 weeks after her interview. What makes it worse is that the students at Gtown told her that they only reject the weirdos after interview!!!! She seemed like an awesome person too!!
Oh well Gtown missed out!🙄

I got the thin envelope 4 short weeks after my NYMC interview. The others have been waitlists and one acceptance.

i got rejected from uvm and nymc post-interview. not sure what happened, although they were my first and second interviews, so maybe i just wasn't polished enough. it took both schools several weeks to let me know. i think some schools tend to have huge waitlists (or don't interview many people), while others reject quite a few applicants post-interview

wayne--rejected right after the interview...

Take a look in the MSAR at the ratio of interviews / acceptances. For the schools that interview lots of applicants (ie Harvard), I'd expect a certain portion get rejected quickly. Conversely, schools that interview few applicants probably don't let go of them as easily.

I received a rejection letter from a school exactly one week after I interviewed. Interview on Friday, adcom meeting on Monday, rejection letter received on Friday. This was back in December, and this school was still sending out acceptances a few weeks ago. Those guys really didn't want me.
