how do you determine the standard deviation on excel?

thanks

You should really learn how to look for formulas in excel. There's no excuse for not being able to find the standard deviation formula... =STDEV(range) is the formula you need.

oh.. i thought it would be more complicated. i know that basic add/subtract/mean was on sigma, but i didnt look for std.. i got an A+ in stats and can find it using a calculator..😀chill man

I am curious about people who use SDN instead of google, wikipedia, textbooks, the 'phone a friend' option, the help key, common sense.

Who are you people? - seriously.

(assuming your pants are already down/off after shatting), gather a big luigi(sp) in your mouth, spit on your left hand, bend over, insert left arm through the legs, start from top of crack and apply pressure as you drag your palm to your sack. repeat 3x. wash hands, preferably with soap.

Yeah, the formula is pretty simple to do, but to get excel to do it well you have to use array formulas which are annoying and a bit buggy. Excel calculates stdev by dividing by n-1 and doesn't give you the option (at least not on my version) of dividing by n instead. Not that this matters for large datasets, but for a handful of samples it can make a big difference.
