Hey SDN Fam,

I'm fluent in Spanish and my health professions adviser mentioned that i should look into becoming a medical interpreter. I was wondering if anyone is a medical interpreter in CA, especially in SO-CAL, that can maybe point me in the right direction.
Do i get certified online? or in a classroom setting?
Are positions readily available?
How difficult is the job actually? etc.

Just some and any advice on the topic would help so much.
The reason i asked for CA residents advice is because i read on other threads it differs between states, however if your not from California feel free to chime in if you can help. Thank you! 👍

Ya. However even if i dont work as a medical interpreter im thinking it is probably worth it to be certified. Im fluent in spanish, and though medical terminology i would obviosuly have to study. I would think its worth it to pay 30 dollars so that i can put on my app i am a certified medical interpreter. Dont you think?
Im not in desperate need of income. I currently have a job, also intern in a hospital where i basically do things CNA's do anyway.

Let me know what you think!
