Does AP Chemistry count for General Chem?

I took AP Chem in Spring 1996 (got a 4) and took General Chem (the second in the sequence in college (Spring 1999, got an A-). Will formal post-bac programs then allow me to take Organic Chem and bypass my general chemistry requirement? Was it too long ago??

I guess most importantly, will most medical schools accept this?
