If your high school record was not the best?
I heard that if you apply as a junior transfer to a university they look more at your college work and less at your high school work though some colleges STILL require it. Hypothetically speaking:
Say Joe finished high school with a 3.4 GPA, he had an upward trend GPA with an A average his final two years but his first two years he messed up. Now lets say Joe attends his local 4 year university (ranked tier 4 by US news and report), manages to get a 4.0 in his two years there, puts together a good resume and gets involved on campus there. Retakes the SATs and makes around a 2100 on them. Will he have a chance at any of these schools if he applies as a junior transfer?
Duke
Cornell University
Northwestern
UNC Chapel Hill
Columbia University
Washington University in St Louis
and Georgetown University.
