Does being a Safety Volunteer count as clinical hours or just volunteering?

Hi All,
I have a job as a patient safety volunteer at a small hospital. My role is to do my “rounds” and go into the patient rooms to check that their safety equipement is working correctly. I also just chat with them and see if they need any assistance from any staff.
What do you think? Is this clinical?

You are in a clinical environment and you are entering the rooms where patients are present and you are interacting with them. If they are conscious, I would assume you introduce yourself, say why you are there, go about your business and perhaps exchange some pleasantries with those who are so inclined (lonely) or hear their complaints (those who are distressed for whatever reason). That meets my definition of clinical.

What do you ask the patients?
I ask if they need anything. I’ve had to contact the nursing staff if the patient is having issues but most times they just want something to eat, drink, or read. I often end up talking with them and get the opportunity to hear their life story, which is fun. 😀

Yes! That is exactly what happens!
