I am a biology teaching assistant this semester and I am taking it for credit. The name of the course is BIOL 4XXX. Since this is a biology class will it count towards my science GPA?

Doubt it. When you input your courses in the online application you write out the name of the course as well as the abbreviation. So I am guessing your title will say "Teachers Assistant : Biology X". Also they get a copy of your Transcript so I am sure they will connect the dots.

You can label any course as whatever you want, but they go over it and change anything they dont agree with. If there is a real discrepancy then you can email them the course website and they will look at the syllabus.

that's interesting...i've never heard of a TA receiving course credit. Do you actually get a grade based on your TA performance? I think it's unusual- you can list it as science and AMCAS may or may not accept it, but I suspect they will not.

If it counts as a credit then you should receive a grade. I'm just not sure if it would fall under BCPM. I would put it in AMCAS and they will decide on changing it if needed. You wouldn't be lying, just unsure.

I doubt it.. at my school being a TA gives you EDUC credit.
