Does anyone know if Dartmouth Medical School offers merit based scholarships, and if so how common they are. Thanks.

I don't think they do, or at least it is not common like some schools where merit scholarships are given to a decent amount of the class.

I am fairly certain they do not give merit-based scholarships. That was my impression after the financial aid presentation during my interview day there. However, the financial aid director (Dino) was AWESOME and I'm sure if you contacted him, he would be happy to chat with you.

Their need-based aid is very generous, however.

Also, I believe that outside scholarships (often merit based) are used to reduce the loan amount of your financial aid, rather than the institutional grants and scholarships, which is sweet.
