Hey all.

Applying this cycle. Colorado is my dream MD school and I want to do everything I can to get an interview. I'm from Detroit but I just moved to CO for a clinical job. My dad and step-mom have lived here for years, and my grandparents before that. I've been going back and forth between Detroit and Colorado my whole life So I don't have a claim to "in state" but I do have a connection to CO. How can I show this to the med school? Secondaries? I'm planning on writing a follow up anyway once I get more hours at my new job and maybe I can include that I've fully "moved" here (all insurance, driver's license is CO). Will they care at all?

Also, my brother is starting at Drexel next year. If I don't get into CO, being near him would be my second choice. So similar question - where is it appropriate to include this information? Will they care?

sGPA=3.98 cGPA=3.52 MCAT=516

I think you qualify as IS for Colorado because of your dad. Write your current address as CO in the AMCAS and write about ties to CO in your secondary but there’s not much space tbh. They only ask about residency qualification after you get accepted. Let me know if you have any other questions, I will be attending CO in August.

It really doesn’t matter in PA (exception being Geisinger)

Thank you! I thought about doing this but I'm a Michigan resident, and all the previous advice I got was to keep MI as my official state of residence. Just cause there's more schools.

Were you a Colorado resident before you applied?

PM me and I’ll tell you about a situation regarding residencies.

And yes I was a CO resident because my parents live here.
