Does it count as volunteering if I do it for credit?

throughout undergrad I have been involved with this organization that has its "volunteers" (that is how they refer to us) teach health at underserved high schools. Does this count as volunteering if I received academic credit for it?

I was in a similar situation where all the clinical experiences offered by the university had to be tied to course credit. I asked a few med schools I applied to and they all said it would be counted as volunteering as long as it didn’t count to my GPA and I didn’t get paid. I would check with specific schools.
