During my senior year of high school, I took an ROP Hospital Occupations course through my school. I worked in a hospital alongside CNAs, Nurses and Respiratory Therapists 12 hours a week for about 18 weeks. Would this still count towards volunteer work or clinical experience since it was in high school, or do ECs and volunteer work have to be done during undergrad? I just want to make sure since it really had a large impact on why I want to become a doctor. 🙂

I don't think so.

It sounds like a great thing to write about in your PS but a poor thing to include in your ECs (since it was in high school)

Oh well. I'll keep it in my pocket for my PS. Thanks for the replies 🙂

The experience section may include things that occurred before college, just ask anyone who includes their Eagle Scout award. That said, many people have more than 15 items from college (and beyond if they are non-tradtional) that the things from HS seem less important. However, if something very formative happened in HS, it is not improper to include it among your "experiences" and you can also write about it in your personal statement.
