I would be more worried about copying and pasting a DO ps to your MD app.
Is that a real issue?, cause if so I'm in trouble.
DO and MD philosophies are different.
Many schools use computerized software to screen your PS, and if you are under 5,000 characters they automatically reject you. Recommend that if you're at 4,700 characters, you fill the rest of the space with "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA..."
I have a personal statement that I spent weeks on for D.O. schools that is just under 4,700 characters. I am deciding to apply M.D. as well (scored well enough on MCAT)...where the character max is 5,300. I think this difference only comes down to a few sentences? While I do understand the PS is a place to sell yourself and talk about your experiences, I don't feel like I can add more without taking away from the flow of it. Does it look bad to adcom's to not use up all of the characters?
OMG!!! I filled mine with BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB. Am I screwed? I won't be able to get into medical school now!
