Does it matter to submit early for summer research programs?

I have a month before one program's deadline, and a little more than a week before the deadlines of two others. GPA, LoRs and personl statements are important factors, of course, but would I have a better chance of acceptance if I get all materials in well before the deadline? Or do programs review and look at all apps only after the deadline, so timing of submission doesn't matter?

Why not apply to the programs and see if you are accepted?

Some programs have rolling admissions.

I already submitted my online applications and transcripts, just waiting on the 2 LoRs to get finished and sent. The programs I applied for didn't say if they have rolling admissions or not. I guess I can shoot them an inquiry about that.

I would search the program's name on SDN and see if there are some threads that give info about the admission process (when people submitted, when decision was made, etc).
