Does it matter what courses I list as Prerequisites for Secondaries??

When listing the taken prerequisites for the med school on the secondaries, I was wondering if there was any requirement as to which classes I had to list.


Do I have to list 141/142 courses?
Or is it in my best interest to list courses with higher grades?

I received a C+ on my Introduction to Biology, but a A on my Biochemistry

List the ones with higher grades, obviously.

As long as you have the lab portion, you can list anything.

What matters is overall GPA and overall performance in prereqs. Individual grades will not matter AT ALL.

I was under the impression that what you listed for prerequisites did not matter
(that they were there mainly for completion purposes, to make sure your individual grades were above a C)~~

Unfortunately, I did not list my highest grades

You do realize that performance in prereqs is perhaps the most important thing on your app?

Many people don't major in the hard sciences, and as a result, only have the requisite essentials, that is, one year of bio, etc, etc. For these people, the luxury of choosing what course to list in the pre-req is not an option. But, assuming you are a science major, you should have probably taken more than one year of bio+ lab, chem+lab, etc. You get the idea. In this case, it is to your advantage to only list your BEST grades. While your overall GPA/BCPM is by far the most important, overall trend, and prereq performance is a VERY close second. There are no two ways about it.

Also, if a school requires a lab and a course, do they have to be associated with each other?

Example:
I use the lab from my "General Chemistry with Lab," CHEM 141
and my "Biochemistry," CHEM 301

Sure the lab was not an independent component, but I did finish a year of lab within that CHEM 141...



Would this be allowed??
