Hello guys!
I read a book talks about how to get into med school. It keeps saying you have to be unique besides getting the grades ( the book states: plenty of students have high GPA, they want someone unique). Is this true?
I met a guy who lost a brother from gang fight, a sister from cancer.Loong history of poverty, diseases, and gang drama.. He got into so many nice programs even with low GPA.
I thought my background sounded okay but compare to people like him, I feel like I have no match. Could you guys give few ideas on what to add or expand my story?
-Born in 3rd world country
-Speaks 3 languages.
-Abandoned by father due to my gender
-Molested by step-father
-Had low self-esteem from growing up in the sexist environment
-Picked nursing because didn't consider Med school.
-Now changed my mind and want to pursue Med school right after I finish RN program?
Do you think this is good reason enough?
Thank you so much for reading!
