Do medical schools care if my research is medically related vs. a research project I did at work on anything. For example, researching a way to upgrade the machines in the factory for the lowest cost?
I wondered about this too. I have >2 years as a research assistant with the Mass Communication department of my undergrad but never thought it would mean anything for this process. Glad to hear it could count for something considering I have zero medical research and given the schedule I am on likely will not be getting any.
I've asked and seen this asked, the consensus is generally yes, it counts. Just be able to explain what you did in the context of scientific method. Ie be able to explain hypothesis, methods, analysis, etc.
