Does not having LORs from Biology Professors look bad?

My premedical advisor grilled on me that it will look bad since I don't have a LOR from a biological science faculty and urges that I minor in biology....I've taken cell bio, neurobio, genetics( C+ doe 🙁 ), biochemistry as my biology courses.

I have 6 LORs:

1) Committee Letter
2) Quantum Mech Prof - Science
3) Advanced Physics Prof - Science
4) Bio-medical Eng Prof - Research - research is not biological/wet lab
5) Creative Writing Prof - Non-science
6) Physician - MD letter

Will med schools find it bad that I don't have a bio professor's letter or is she being evil to meh D:

That's the most non sensual thing I ever heard from an adviser. If you can't get a strong letter from a biology professor, don't get it. IMO a letter from quantum mechanics professors sounds much more interesting than gen bio faculty.

Btw Biochem belongs more to chemistry than biology 😛

haha glad i'm not the only one who thought she was being silly. I swear SDN folks should take over pre-medical advising. haha and thanks, a bulk of my courses were physics courses.

And true, too much organic chemistry reactions in biochemistry. Fromm cell biology --> biochemistry ---> inorganic chemistry ---> molecular structure - quantum mechanics --> particle physics 😛 it all boils down haha

Your pre-medical adviser is giving you bad advice. You don't need a letter from a biology professor. Science faculty in any field provide fine letters.
