I wanted to update my app, but I was wondering if anyone who had re-certified and submitted their app could help me out. Does re-certifying change the info about "date certified" and "date submitted" on my application? I don't want it to look like I just now completed my AMCAS app... also, will this change my place in line (I am still waiting to be verified)?

(The last question probobly does not make much sense, considering the SCAMCAS patented random method of applicant selection for verification)

No it does not change the dates. I actually talked with the director, who said that it shouldn't change your place in line. If anyone heard differently, please let me know.

Thanks Cali, your reply is greatly appreciated! 🙂

If you are just updating your e-mail address or something minor like that, your place in line should be unaffected. However, if you need to change a grade, which requires a new transcript, your "new" date is when AMCAS receives your transcript. This happenned to me, and it's ridiculous.

Eek! Well, considering I did not submit until 9/1 (being the very bad girl that I am, I did not REALLY get to my AMCAS app until after the Aug MCAT) I probobly won't get looked at for verification till '02 anyway (considering AMCAS' current rep) so no biggie if I get kicked to the back of the line! I can't believe I actually PAID money to go through this!
