Hey all, non-trad here, would adcom's consider my work experience as a retail pharmacist count as clinical experience?
Also, I did work as a pharmacy tech/intern in the ED before, where my job was to reconcile medications- I would speak with the patients (both in the ED and when sometimes patients who were admitted and on the floors) about what medications they were taking, how they were taking it, if they were adherent to their prescribed regimens, etc, not your typical pharmacy tech experience. Would this count as clinical experience as well?

My thoughts:
- Any work experience will be looked upon highly.
- Personally, I do not automatically see retail pharmacy as being a clinical experience. I could be convinced depending on how much face-to-face time you actually have with patients.
- I would see your inpatient pharmacy work as being a clinical experience.
- Not all of your clinical experience should be pharmacy-based. If this is the case, I would recommend broadening the type of clinical experiences that you have (e.g in hospices, etc.)
