I took my dats aug 24, and only heard back from tufts. Do I have anything to worry about? I got a AA: 22 TS: 23 PAT: 23, and my science gpa is a 3.7. But the problem is I only have 30 hours of dental shadowing. Will this hurt me? Someone please help!

Though schools like to see more, most schools that have a minimum have it around 20-30, so you should be good. Having 30 hours won't hurt you unless the school requires 50, which I think one or two might. Don't worry 🙂

I would say you are a little on the low side. try to get atleast another 20-30 hours in. Heck, that can be done in a couple of weeks if you want.

if you have time, more won't hurt. the main point of shadowing is to know for sure if dentistry is really what you want to spend the rest of your life doing.

If you truly like dentistry should more shadowing be too much to ask? I think shadowing helps for the interview. Both of the interviews I've had so far asked the question, "Have you job shadowed recently, and tell me about your experiences."

One of the main purposes of the interview is to determine whether or not you enjoy learning about dentistry. If you haven't shadowed recently, it may be a little more difficult to talk about aspects of dentistry with sparkly eyes.
