I will be applying to SMDEP at UofL and I was just curious about what everyone thinks about how helpful SMDEP is. I am debating between taking a gen chem 2 class over summer to take organic my sophomore year or do SMDEP. Thanks.

Definitely do SMDEP over general chemistry.
I attended one academic enrichment program that I attended the summer after high school(PEPP) and we go back our sophomore summer for PEPP 2. That's the only reason I wasn't sure if SMDEP would boost me even more over getting organic chemistry done in sequence and taking the dat earlier.

Something like that.
Was there a part I should read that relates to my question? I want you to know I don't mean this in a smart way, I just did not understand what to look at that related to my smdep question. Thank you for your posts, I'm just not very smart haha.

Ignore the post/reference.
SMDEP programs might help you in your decision on which educational path to take, but it does not help you with the pre reqs.

Oh ok, I just meant like would SMDEP make me stand out further to a dental school if I had already done another enrichment program anyway. Thank you for clarifying and posting !

You mean if one program is good, two must have a synergistic effect? Schools are usually more interested in the metrics of the applicant and less on the non tangibles.
