Does super early AMCAS verification actually matter?

I was looking at through MDApplicants and noticed that there was one person last year who submitted his AMCAS at 9am the first day of submission and was verified THE SAME DAY. (According to him). My question is, does it really matter how early you are verified as long as you are complete before AMCAS sends out the information to the med schools?

So does a person who is verified June 6th have an advantage over someone who is verified June 20th? Is the person who is verified earlier somehow more ahead of that other person, even though AMCAS still hasnt sent anything out?

Also, random question that I was also hoping to get answered: How do you pay for AMCAS submission? Can you do e-check or does it have to be credit card?'

Thanks!

Peace of mind? If you submit later in June it takes longer to get verified than if you submit sooner. I can't see there being much of a difference between June 6th and June 20th, other than you'll get your secondaries sooner (June 27th is the first day, iirc) if you're the June 6th person. You might not be verified till early July if you submit June 20th. It all depends though on how quickly AMCAS works.

I paid for my AMCAS via credit/debit card. I don't remember what the other options were.

Quoting it from Alex Cole's article: Reflections on the Medical Admissions Process

"Don’t rush any part of the application
Contrary to most SDN advice, you don’t need to submit the application within the first few days of June in order to be “on time.” While the time required for applications to be verified does get much longer quickly, you won’t be receiving any secondaries until mid-to-late July unless AMCAS and schools change how they do things significantly. Don’t compromise the integrity of your application for the sake of submitting on the first day possible. Taking a few days to intensively review your application and make necessary changes will yield many more benefits than submitting the application on the first day possible without reviewing and editing."

On which date does AMCAS start releasing info to medical schools?

On which date does AMCAS start releasing info to medical schools?

Last year I submitted June 6th, got everything verified two weeks later, and received a secondary that day or the next; I'm not sure. So at least within that time frame.

I believe this year AMCAS is releasing the info to schools on June 29th

I thought apps weren't seen by schools until June 29th this year. I'm guessing that this means that submitting on the 5th holds no advantage over submitting days later, assuming that each person is verified before the 29th?

AMCAS does not send anything to med schools until 6/29 this year.

Any idea why AMCAS isn't submitting the applications until June 29? There's probably less of an advantage now that AMCAS is doing it this way; albeit, there probably is still a slight advantage because schools may send out secondaries to applicants who were verified first.

A couple days ago i talked to the lady at my state school and she told me that up to the first wave of interviews, the order of applications doesn't matter. So if they received two applicants apps one on say..... 6/20 and the other on 7/15 and the first wave of interviews doesn't go out until August, then the date they they received those apps doesn't effect decisions on who gets interviewed between the two.
