Hey guys, for those who have applied and who are applying to medical school right now, does anyone know how much the last year of college matters in relation to the application? Of course, one were to fail and drop out of college, I can understand how this last year could be an issue--but other than that, will medical schools want to keep track of how you are doing in and out of school during your senior year? This is, of course, assuming that you do not take a gap year, or reapply for the class entering in 2013.

If it's not on your primary app, schools don't care that much.

Might become important if you get waitlisted as a school may want you to update them with your fall term grades or if it gets late enough grades from the whole year

Thanks for the replies--that's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure

We talking like you just have to pass, or >3.0?

Definitely a grey area since most acceptance letters include a pretty vague conditional statement. I would aim for Bs and above at the least, but I wouldn't think that one or two Cs would be a deal breaker.
