My PI is heading to a conference in May to present a poster of my research. Originally, I was first author on the poster and my PI wanted me to present at the conference but the date interfered with my step 1 testing date. Therefore, my PI put himself as first author and I'm second author (which idc about) but could I include this on my ERAS as a poster presentation even though I didn't actually attend the conference or present but I am 2nd author on the poster?

Yup, it's a poster! Congrats!

It counts as a poster. On a side note it was inappropriate for your PI to change the order of authorship because you couldn't make it to the conference. The presenting author doesn't have to be the first author. Authorship is determined by how much each author contributed.

Yeah, I was gonna say it's a shame to lose a 1st author for something so avoidable.

Wait this is really a thing? If my PI presented our research at a conference, it counts as my poster presentation? What if that research turned into a publication? Is that considered double dipping or should I put both?

You put both. It's not double dipping.

Agreed with above posters! Anytime your name is on a poster or any kind of presentation, you should include it. The presenting author bit is honestly whichever author could physically attend the conference, so nobody really cares about that. And yes, your PI should not have changed authorship.

If your name is on the poster and/or publication, then yes, you "get credit" and should absolutely include it in your application. Even if you weren't a formal author, I would still include the research experience on my application and indicate that it went toward work that was ultimately published.
