I am currently volunteering in my school's training room as a student athletic trainer where I am able to observe, as well as assist in different rehabilitation protocols of different injuries and conditions. I was just wondering if this is considered clinical experience. Thanks!

Yes, but I just wasn't entirely sure if the athletes counted as patients since they weren't getting care from an actual physician.
Then yes. Injuries make people patients, wouldn't you agree? (An ortho sure would.) Rehab is a pretty important part of [non-interventional and effective] care.

I don't think it will be held in the same regard. It's like working in a posh derm clinic. You're not really seeing the patient population there is to know if working with the sick is for you. Ultimately, rehabilitation will be seen positively, but you should supplement with other clinical opportunities.

It is an interesting experience to list on your application but you should augment it with shadowing and/or volunteering and/or employment in another setting where physicians are present.

Thank you for the advice. I have 100 hours of shadowing and around 70 hours of hospice volunteering
