Received this email today from one of the schools I am applying to. Does this mean I am being rejected? (or the opposite)? Isn't MD/Ph.D program more demanding of the applicant? Would appreciate your input. Thanks much.

That doesn't look like a rejection to me...especially since they mentioned the MD/PhD thing. I would say that they just want you to keep research in the back of your mind in case you get accepted. Thats What I think.

Sounds like a pretty generic e-mail that I wouldn't read into.

That sounds like a pretty great email to me.

I would email them back and show interest, I would love to know my options regarding research opportunities before picking a school, but the MD/Ph.D thing would just take too long.

I think if you show interest, it can only help your chances.

thats as generic as they come. I dont really see anything to get excited about. On the flip side, theres not anything to worry about either. THey just want you to know the opportunities available at their program. Now, you could argue "why would they want me to know about those opportunities if they arent going to accept me?" but then youd just be playing head games with yourself.

what would make you read rejection from that? when temple sent me an email about podiatry i was a little nervous, but this is in the other direction. I'd agree that it sounds pretty generic and have gotten a few of these, but I certainly wouldn't veiw it as a bad sign.
