I JUST got my MCAT scores, and I want to know opinions.. last year I got a 26M: PS:7 VR:10 BS:9. This year, I got a 30R: PS:8 VR:11 BS:11. I am applying to both D.O. and M.D. schools. Can I get into any M.D. programs with this MCAT? I have a 3.83 at a state school in MI, decent ec and volunteer...

I applied to Wayne State, Michigan State, Rosalind Franklin, Toledo.. and many other D.O.s.
.. and i hate physical science!!!!! 🙁

I definitely think you have a shot. I can't recall exact numbers, but I think your GPA is well above Wayne State's average, and obviously higher than any osteopathic school. You MCAT is fine, a little unbalanced, but the 11 in VR is a nice touch. They will see you bumped up 4 points on your composite score.

I'm no expert and we all know everyone has their opinions, and mine is that you'll get in this cycle. Just interview well and be confident.

if you got a 30 on the MCAT, you should be OK in that respect at least...

It all comes down to how the rest of your file looks (GPA, ECs, LORs, etc.). Unless your GPA is terrible, you'll be in good shape for the DO schools and have a shot at the MD schools too.

Well yeah, his 3.83 GPA definitely isn't the weak spot...
