Hey guys, I'm getting the mid-cycle nerves and wanted some input on whether my school choices were reasonable. I don't have a particularly long list, mostly for financial reasons. Here are my stats:

3.76 cGPA
3.62 BCPM
> strong upward curve for both, 3.9+ for last 3 years
36Q MCAT (12PS/13VR/11BS)
Very solid LORs
Excellent clinical volunteering (leadership, oversees, multiple types)
Shadowing
Minimal Research (2.5 months)
AZ resident.

This is my List:

U Of Michigan
Mayo
Cornell
Stanford
Emory
New York U
Einstein
Case Western
Boston U
U of Iowa
OHSU
U of Minnesota
U of AZ (Tucson)

Any input would be appreciated!

You have great stats, but your abbreviated research experience will probably put you out of the running with the "top twenty" research giants on your list, unless you have substantive leadership and community service credentials to take its place. If you don't have above-and-beyond activities that suggest you have the potential to be a future leader in medicine, it is a good idea to add more schools in the upper mid-selective arena. JMO

Thank you for weighing in Catalystik, I was hoping to hear your take on my list.

Do you believe the University of Maryland or the University of Miami would be an appropriate addition to fill the upper-mid deficit?
