So I applied this current cycle and wound up getting waitlisted at 3 schools. My cGPA was a 3.20, sGPA was a 3.21, and MCAT was a 502 (126-124-126-126).

For this next cycle, this is what I'm doing:

MCAT Retake: Scheduled for the 2nd of June. I have already been doing better than I have before, and FEEL MUCH more confident. I am now scoring in the 505-507 range, but am sure I can get that up to a 510+

Post-Bacc: Waiting for transcripts to arrive at post-bacc state University. Additionally, waiting for MSMHS-COM at Touro CA to reply to my admission. Going to do this during application cycle, and let schools know that I'm in a post-bacc, and hopefully wow them at the emd of Fall with new grades.

Application: Planning to submit as soon as new MCAT score arrives (2nd or 3rd of July).

Top School = Touro-CA

Do you think this is okay?

Sounds pretty solid to me. I think that improvement on the MCAT will really help. Why not submit your app in mid june so that it has time to clear and you can apply to schools in early July? just curious. When did you apply this cycle? Also, I would consider emailing the schools to get feedback on why you weren't accepted (this of course after the classes fill). Crossing my fingers for you, hope you get in off one of the waitlist! Way to be proactive and have a backup plan if not!

How would I submit my app in mid June and then apply to schools in July? You mean apply to one school at first to get verified?

I applied in July this cycle, but got held back due to a letter from a DO Physician, so I got delayed till August.

So in conclusion, you don't think schools will reject me off the bat for being a reapplicant starting a post-bacc during the cycle with an improved MCAT?

Yeah I should have clarified. apply to a "throw away school" so you're all set to go July 3rd. And no I do not think you will get rejected because of that. If anything it shows that you have taken the time to become a better applicant. How do you feel you did on your interviews? that could be another possibility. I recommend doing some mock interviews with feedback. I know the undergraduate university I attended offered this.

yeah the fact you got interviews shows your app was competitive enough imo but increasing mcat never hurts

If you can get that MCAT up I think you'll be fine. You didn't take any classes during this last cycle?

Just curious, where are you waitlisted?

ATSU-SOMA, ATSU-KCOM, and Touro-NV. No, I just worked, did volunteer work, etc.

Broaden your school list, throw in newer schools if you want to be safe, practice your interviewing. The general rule is 3 IIs = 1 acceptance, so I would definitely suggest working on your interview skills this way you can be more confident next time! Otherwise, your plan sounds good. Good luck 🙂

Thank you! Also, thank you for answering a lot of my questions. My gf recently got me to start watching Gray's Anatomy, so now I know that you're not the one in the picture 😀

No problem, I've been rooting for you throughout the cycle!

Hahaha, enjoy the show 🙂
