Hello, I'm currently a freshman attending to a small liberal arts college (ranked #105 in US rankings). I love this college's faculty members, learning environment, and friends, but one thing that began to concern me is my school's ranking. I've heard that admission to dental school is very competitive and I'm sure I will be competing against thousands and thousands of smart applicants from top #25+ institutions. Will the ranking of my school have impact on my admission process??

This has been asked a million times and answered a million times. I will give you the opposite answer. Yes it matters so much if you don't go to Harvard. If you don't go to Harvard, you will most likely not be a dentist and need to change careers.

I would assume mostly no, but if it's a good school, I'm sure it helps more than it hurts.

No, it doesn't.. Nothing does... Life doesn't matter.. So do whatever you want with it

A high ranking school does not automatically equal high quality education. Dental schools care about your academic preparation which shows through your grades and DAT. Do well in those and you'll be in great shape. Basically, your undergrad ranking doesn't matter now.

The small liberal arts college I'm attending is ranked in the #120's on that same list, so don't worry about your school's ranking. What matters is you and your undergraduate performance! Best of luck!
🙂

Edit: I forgot to mention that two of my classmates applied this year (as did I), and one got accepted to USC and the other to UoP. Further proof that attending a small liberal arts college or a school with a "lower ranking" doesn't matter.
