Does working as a Resident Aide in assisted living count as clinical experience?

Probably not. Even you called them residents and not patients. But if you are volunteering it would be wonderful nonclinical volunteering.

It is reasonable non-clinical employment that shows that you work well with people who have physical and/or cognitive challenges and that is a big plus even if it is not, strictly speaking, "clinical".
