Does yield protection apply to international students?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If a school is going to yield protect, it is likely that they'll do it across the board. If the applicant is a superstar who looks like a prime candidate for a top 10 med school, the high-cost, low prestige schools are likely to figure that they don't stand a chance of landing such a candidate and they should focus their limited resources (interviewer slots) on people who are more likely to choose to matriculate if made an offer. That said, yield protection is something of an art and if the powers that be say, "this applicant is likely to have a lot of offers but we have done well in the past attracting students from [country], so let's interview this applicant". You just never know.
