Does your residency program affect job opportunities?

There's numerous threads on this so do a search, but for all practical purposes it does not (in non-academics at least).
Where you trained is less important than who you know. But, of course, who you know is influenced by where you trained.
Networking matters hence alumni networks matter. Older programs have larger alumni networks. Brand name programs have larger networks and/or better positioned networks.
