Does your school give open book or take home exams?

Dude I think my school is giving us one traditional multiple guess exam one day, the next day a take home one, and doctoring/clinical skills one per block? Does any one else out there have these open book/take home exams in med school? If so what are they like? People at my school seem to be happy that there is going to be a take home portion, but i seem to not do to well at these. In undergrad I've gotten some take home exams which ended up being 15-20 page papers, I hate looking stuff up. I'd rather guess and move on to the next question.

Sometimes we have homework that counts towards our grade for some "less intense" classes. We also have those internet research assignments that are mandatory and part of our grade as well. We don't have real take home exams though.

I agree these assignments are annoying.
