At our school we get graded A-F and a C is the minimum passing score. The med school students with us in anatomy and histology get graded with the Pass/Fail. It seems like the med students are very supportive with every1 and they work together. The dental students are all cut throat and competitive. I hope that this changes.

your input is appreciated.

The more progressive schools are all going to pass/fail.

A UNLV, we get letter grades with a minimum C to pass. They are thinking of changing to pass/fail for upcoming classes.

Pass/Fail/Honors @ Columbia. Love the system...everybody helps each other out and shares resources among the entire class. It also makes it a little bit less stressful.

Gosh, how I wish the U of Minn. did the pass/fail system.

Case just turned P/F with the 2010 class. The upper year classes seem to work well together, but I think our class is a pretty cohesive unit. 👍

A-F for UMKC, and some classes make it really difficult to maintain your A. Our biochem class only allows you to miss 49 points and still maintain an A, and that is over 10 quizzes (10 points each) and 4 exams (100 points each). The B range is pretty big though.

Here at the University of Kentucky, we subscibe to the A-E system. Here's usually how it goes:

A=90-100% (occasionally 92-100%)
B+=tossup between 84-89% and 87-89% depending on the course
B=tossup between 75-83% and 80-86% " " "
C=" " 70-74% and 70-79% " " "
E=less than 70%

UK was on the Honors/Pass/Fail system up until a few years before I started (circa 2000). Not sure why they changed it. I think that our class gets along well although I agree that a pass/fail system would encourage more cooperation among the students and decrease shady activities such as harboring old exams/notes without sharing (or maybe selectively sharing them with their clique). That always bites to find out 👎
