I'm finishing up my intern year, looking forward to starting ophtho this july...

i take USMLE step 3 in a couple weeks and had a question: does this test affect in any way our futures as ophthalmologists? i'm studying for it as we speak, but was wondering if there is any pressure for me to do well on this test as opposed to just passing...

any bearing on fellowship match?

i mean, i'm still gonna study for it to comfortably pass, but was just curious. do fellowships even have this # on the application?

Not really. As long as you pass and are able to be licensed, no one is really all that interested.

If you do really well, keep it to yourself. Mentioning it might make people laugh at you.
