Okay, so everyone reading this will probably think I'm a huge sucker!

This evening, my dog and my sister's dog were freaking out because people are setting off fireworks in our neighborhood. I put them in my room where I closed the windows, shades, and curtains to help with blocking the noise a bit. Then, I decided to play a little music to cover up the sound of the fireworks.

I don't have much that's really mellow on iTunes right now. I had heard of a cd called "Through a Dog's Ear" on Radiolab, so I went on the website (http://www.throughadogsear.com) and tried some of the demos. My dogs calmed down within a few moments. It seemed to work really well for my sister's dog, who is currently snoozing through the fireworks.

Thought some other dog owners on the forum might want to give it a try! If it doesn't work for the dogs, the music is certainly calm enough to put me to sleep, so I'm sure it'll come in handy if I'm suffering from insomnia in the future. :p
