Doing CLS before applying to DO to increase acceptance chance?

Hi everyone,
Any input would be great!

So here goes, currently about to finish undergrad in May of 08. I'm hoping for at least a 3.4 overall gpa and 3.0+ science. I know the science is low, but I'm enrolled in a clinical lab science program. I was hoping that after finishing that and than working for a year in a hospital, studying for the MCAT and than taking that, would help. Lets say I score a 24ish.


Do you think after all that I would have a good chance of getting into a D.O. school?

I think that sounds like a good plan.. 🙂 Id try to score a little higher on the MCAT, maybe a 26, and I think you'd be fine.

You should be trying to score a 45.

Aiming high is the only way to set yourself up for success.

It's really difficult for one to just say 'yes you have a good chance,' or 'no you do not,' based on a little message like this. It really depends on how you do on the MCAT (it's very hard to project a score), what schools you are applying to, ECs, etc etc. However, I do think that your gpa of 3.4 is good, as is this CLS program. In response to those two assets, yes, I think they are good points for your DO application. Best of luck, welcome to the forums, and make sure to stick around!!👍

Thanks guys for all the input 🙂 I agree with aiming to do high, very good point. I'm pretty much still looking at this point and asking if I would have any chance at all or if I was waisting my time.
