Do you think it matters if I have done no biological research when it comes down to research extracurriculars? Say I have only done physics research.

Considering I am a physics major, I plan on doing no non-physics research.

(This is assuming I have done adequate hospital volunteering and shadowing.)

Research is better than no research. I don't think it'll matter. As long as you can clearly explain what you did, you should be fine. Whether or not you'll actually get asked about it (since most people you interview with likely won't be familiar with the field) is another question.

Doing physics research as a physics major is a nobrainer. No one is going to question it. You liked the subject enough to major in it, so if you're going to be spending 10 hours a week doing something, you should be enjoying it. Plus, it also keeps your options open for grad school, if it turns out medicine is not really your thing.
