I'm considering doing research for credit next semester...I'd do research anyway (have been in my lab for over a year), so I thought I might as well do it for credit as the only extra "burden" is an hour long meeting every other week with other people doing research for credit. I don't really need the credit, though, because I'll have plenty of credits to graduate. So is there actually a point to doing research for credit besides the actual credit? Does your grade get put into the BCPM GPA calculation (at my school at least, it's an easy A)?

Yep, it does get put into your BCPM calculation (assuming it's through the Bio or the Chem department).

No real reason not to take the easy A...

hmm.... i have a couple of friends who stopped doing it for credits since they had to write papers and stuff for a grade.. their PI was really abt learning reseaching techniques and stuff.. so they quit his lab...lol.. now they're in my boat trying to find someone else to research with 😛

I did the class as well, easiest A in college...
